Volunteers mark fences to make them more visible to sage grouse in an effort to decrease bird mortality

In 2010, Great Salt Lake Audubon Society (UT) received Collaborative Funds to improve fence visibility in the vicinity of the Henefer sage-grouse lek in order to reduce bird mortality. On December 3rd, a group of six volunteers installed the markers (3 inch pieces of white vinyl siding) in less than two hours.
